ZANU PF has paid tribute to the people of Gutu East for supporting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision by voting for the ruling party’s candidate, Cde Zvarevashe Masvingise, in the just-ended by-election.
The result has been hailed as a reflection of the party’s grassroots strength, unity, and its impact through community-centred development programmes.
Newly elected Gutu East Member of Parliament, Cde Masvingise, expressed gratitude to the electorate for aligning themselves with the developmental trajectory led by President Mnangagwa.
“I am honoured to have been chosen by the people of Gutu East to represent them in the National Assembly. I want to acknowledge that the people of Gutu voted for the ZANU PF party because of its influence and impact on communities.
“The support we got from President Mnangagwa and the ZANU PF leadership up to the district level showed that our party is united and committed to ensuring improved livelihoods of people. Let me assure the people of Gutu East that we will continue following President Mnangagwa’s vision of ensuring an upper middle-income economy by the year 2030,” he said.
ZANU PF Masvingo Provincial Chairperson, Cde Robson Mavhenyengwa said the party’s resounding victory reflects the unity among party members.
“As a party, we are excited about the election results recorded in Gutu East. It clearly indicates that the ZANU PF is a people-centred party and people respect that. It also reflects the impact of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s programmes in communities that have seen improved livelihoods,” he said.
Cde Masvingise won the Gutu East Parliamentary seat after garnering 9321 votes against Gift Gonese an independent candidate who got 2269 votes and Zivanai Nzvenga of the NCA party who received 173 votes.
